The Capitol, Supreme Court, and other great sites...

On Friday, October 19 we ate breakfast at the Longworth Congressional Office Building on THE HILL and then went to the Honorable Roger Wicker's office to meet one of his staff, Clark. She's an Ole Miss grad and led us on a great tour of the Capitol. We got to go on the floor of the House of Representatives and sit on the front row...pretty cool. Did you know that if you're on the podium speaking in the House you look into the FACE OF MOSES on the opposite wall????....hmmm.....After that we had lunch and then headed over to the Supreme Court to check things out there...then over to Union Station where you can catch a train to just about anywhere. We came back to our hotel for a nap and then explored Old Town Alexandria...saw the church where George Washington and Robert E. Lee went to church (YES!...Church-goers did start this country.)

We'll be heading to the National Cathedral, National Zoo, and Arlington Cemetary on Saturday...and church with some friends at Capitol Hill Baptist Sunday Morning.

Keep praying...house may be close to selling!...
This is the center of the Capitol and the center of Washington, D.C.

Mom and Haylee check out our ancient grandparents trying to make it without a microwave.

Haylee and Jackson are way up there at the top of those stairs by the two middle columns...that's the Supreme Court Building.
